Creole Sayings

Da how yo so wild; da we yo want; we u de luk pan; Shenki, raati or malatá; ignorant laik horse; unu no padl cunú; scornful dog eat dotty pudding.

If goat did know di size a him batty-hole, him wouldn' swallow mango seed.

Hang your baskit where you can retch it; If everyday bucket go da well, one day im battam mus drop out.

Mi trow mi corn, mi neva call non foul; Yuh laydon wid dog, yuh muss rise up wid flee. Yuh will soon find out how wata walk go ina pumpkin belly. Em teeth choky like fi jackass. If yuh spit in de sky it fall inna yuh face

Cut eye, cut eye cant cut me in two. Weh eye no see, heart no leap; who won' hear will feel;  Yuh help maga dog em tun roun bite yuh; When chicken merry, hawk deh near.

What is done in di dark, muss come to di light. Yuh betta come down offa yuh high horse. You fe see a blind hear a def.

Crab we walkabout too much loose em claw. De higher monkey climb de more em expose im self; Every mickle mek a muckle.

A friend in need is a friend indeed. Yuh dunce like bat. Everybody pot no ready same time.

Tek time draw yo han outta aligetor mouth. No dash way yuh stick before you cross di bridge. Yuh musn't tek on big work if yuh no know how fe handle it. When di fox cant get de grape em say it sour. Yuh neva miss de water till de well run dry.

One hand can't clap. Who feels it, knows it. Neva see, come see. When dishes claat tun table claat. Showoff always bring disgrace. Him wi tief milk outta coffee.
